What a wheel lock is
A wheel lock is a lug nut with a special pattern that needs a matching key socket to turn. It makes wheel theft harder, but without the key it also makes the wheel hard to remove when you need to, such as to change a flat.
When to call us
- You have a flat and can't find the wheel lock key.
- The key or the lock is stripped or rounded and won't grip.
- A shop turned you away because the key is missing.
What we do
- We drive to your car in our North Jersey service area.
- We remove the locking lug nut so the wheel can come off.
- If you also have a flat, we can put on your spare in the same visit.
Afterwards
Soon after, replace the removed lock with a standard lug nut or a new wheel lock set, so every wheel is fastened properly. Keep the new key in the glove box or with your jack.
